A Short History of the Colorado State Flag
Though the Colorado flag is a strikingly simple design, the exact specifications have twice required refinement by legislative intervention in it's relatively short existence. The flag was originally designed by one Andrew Carlisle Carson and subsequently adopted by the Colorado General Assembly in 1911.
The General Assembly was twice called upon to clarify design specifications, first in 1929 to specify the exact colors, and again in 1964 to clarify the shape and size of the letter "C."
